You can park, walk around the EpicCentral waterfront and watch a show without purchasing admission to another EpicCentral attraction.

What Time Is the Illuvia Show?

As of August 2026, EpicCentral's official Illuvia page lists regular evening viewing times every night.


The current published schedule is:

  • 8:30 p.m.

  • 11:30 p.m.

EpicCentral says daytime fountains begin operating at 11 a.m., while the evening performances incorporate water, lighting and music. The later nighttime shows deliver the fully illuminated experience.

Important Before You Go

Check the official schedule before leaving home.

EpicCentral can modify or suspend performances because of weather, special events or other programming. In summer 2026, for example, Illuvia performances were affected by international soccer watch parties at EpicCentral.



How Long Is the Illuvia Show?

EpicCentral's current FAQ says performances typically run approximately 15–20 minutes, although another section of the official page describes regular viewing periods as about 30 minutes.

Because the official page itself uses different descriptions, we'd plan on roughly 15–30 minutes around the scheduled performance rather than treating one exact duration as guaranteed.

For the best experience, EpicCentral recommends arriving approximately 10–15 minutes before showtime, with additional time advisable during popular events.

In November 2024, Outside the Lines launched Aquarius Interactive at EpicCentral.

The patented system uses artificial intelligence to allow visitors to influence the fountain through movement rather than handheld controllers, pressure pads or wires.

When someone moves near the fountain, the system can respond by changing light colors, firing water jets or doing both.


The City of Grand Prairie said the technology was installed to make Illuvia more interactive and encourage visitors to spend more time around EpicCentral.

So Illuvia isn't exactly the same attraction that debuted in 2023.

It has continued evolving.


Who Designed the Illuvia Water Show?

The origins of Illuvia go back to the larger EpicCentral expansion.

In 2021, the City of Grand Prairie announced it was working with Outside the Lines (OTL) and 900lbs of Creative on creative placemaking attractions for EpicCentral.

Outside the Lines specializes in water features, themed environments and specialty construction, while 900lbs of Creative was involved in the creative experience side of the project.


Construction of EpicCentral's water show was underway by early 2022.

Illuvia ultimately debuted in 2023.


The History of EpicCentral in Grand Prairie

To understand why Illuvia exists, it helps to understand what Grand Prairie was trying to build around it.


EpicCentral Started as a Much Larger Recreation Vision

Today, EpicCentral is marketed as a 172-acre entertainment district, but its identity developed over multiple phases rather than appearing overnight.

Major public recreation anchors helped establish the area.


One of the best-known is Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, located at 2970 Epic Place. The year-round indoor waterpark became one of the major attractions associated with the district.

2021: EpicCentral's Major Expansion Takes Shape
