What's the best piece of workout equipment? There are thousands of workout equipment out there. If you ask me, my answer will always be resistance bands. Bear with me here.


WHAT IS IT?

Resistance bands are rubber and can be looped around your body, gym equipment, doors, or trees to perform an exercise. They come in many different varieties, but the best ones will have different thickness options to modify the exercise intensity. The thicker the band, the harder the exercise becomes. If you need even more weight, you can also double up on bands to increase intensity.















Resistance bands will typically increase in resistance from yellow, blue, green, black, then red. But these differences will vary depending on the brand you pick. They also provide excellent counter balance. So, if you're trying to improve your pull-up or tricep dip, loop a thick band under you knees or feet. The bands will assist in reducing the amount of weight you're pulling or pushing up.



WHY?

Resistance bands are an efficient, lightweight alternative to typical weight machines and heavy dumbbells. They're arguably the best piece of workout equipment because they're so versatile and practical. If I was on vacation, all I would need is a single pack of these resistance bands and I could target every muscle group to get an intense workout in. Resistance band sets are also relatively cheap to buy from different retailers.


Training with resistance bands can increase strength and endurance, improve functional capacity and body composition. They can be used for workouts, mobility, flexibility, and rehabilitation work.

Here is a sample full body exercises that you can do with a set of resistance bands. If you want to modify the intensity, change out the band for a thicker or thinner one.
