🧭 Race Structure & Rules
“3-Band” System: Each athlete starts with three wristbands. Losing a band occurs on failed obstacles:
Mandatory obstacles (walls, crawls, carries): athletes can retry but once failed, lose a band.
Single-attempt obstacles (technical rigs): one attempt only; failure also costs a band
Penalty Loops:
Finish with 3 bands? Straight to the finish line.
1-2 bands lost? Complete one penalty loop per lost band before crossing.
0 bands? No official finish-out of awards contention.
Race Format: Waves of two athletes every ~30 seconds or minute to reduce congestion at obstacles.
👥 Divisions & Eligibility
Elite class, plus age divisions (7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-29, 30-49, 50+) and an Open (fun) category.
International team qualifier: event serves as a USA OCR Team qualifier & USA National Team qualifier.
🏆 Competition & Awards
Prize purse: $4,000 for Elite male and female winners.
Medals & Participation: Top 3 in each age/Elite get large medals. Every finisher receives a medal and shirt.
💡 Why It Stands Out
Obstacle-dense, run-focused format: Ideal for athletes who crave technical challenges and run continuity without extended mud sections.
Indoor-friendly & spectator-oriented: Compact layout enhances viewing and media coverage
Band penalty system: Introduces a strategic layer. Athletes must decide when to risk retries vs. accept penalties
