Updated: Apr 2

Grand Prairie, Texas continues to evolve into one of the most exciting live-work-play destinations in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. From new restaurants and retail to major entertainment venues and residential growth, the city is seeing steady momentum that benefits both local residents and visitors.

If you’re wondering what’s new in Grand Prairie - or planning your next visit, group outing, or event - here’s a current look at new and recently opened businesses, plus what’s still coming next.

Businesses Opening Soon

The Landing (by Tiffany Derry)

One of the most exciting new additions to the Grand Prairie food scene is The Landing, the latest concept from acclaimed chef Tiffany Derry. Known for her appearances on shows like Top Chef and MasterChef, Derry is bringing a fresh, elevated take on Southern comfort food to North Texas.

Located near EpicCentral, The Landing is expected to feature bold flavors, creative twists on classic dishes, and a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the growing energy of Grand Prairie. With dishes like brisket egg rolls and reimagined comfort staples, this new restaurant is already generating buzz and is set to become a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors alike.

Amped Obstacles is bringing a high-energy, ninja warrior-style training experience to Grand Prairie, Texas, opening before Summer 2026. Designed for kids, teens, and adults, this one-of-a-kind indoor facility will feature obstacle course training, open gym sessions, birthday parties, camps, and group events, all built to challenge, inspire, and get the community moving.

One of the most anticipated restaurant additions coming to Grand Prairie is Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory, a popular Texas-born Tex-Mex concept known for its fresh tortillas and fast, flavorful meals. The new location is planned for a high-traffic area near SH 161 and Mayfield Road, making it easily accessible for families, commuters, and the surrounding community.

As of April 2nd, 2026, the new location is currently listed as “coming soon,” Rosa’s Café is expected to bring its signature mix of quick service and sit-down comfort dining to the area, offering everything from fajita plates to taco combos.  With its strong reputation across Texas and focus on family-friendly dining, this opening is already generating buzz as another major addition to Grand Prairie’s rapidly growing food scene.

Recently Opened Businesses in Grand Prairie

Radici Wood Fired Grill - EpicCentral

Radici Wood Fired Grill is one of the newest upscale dining additions to the EpicCentral district. Opened in spring 2025, this Italian wood-fired concept brings elevated cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and a lively atmosphere to South Grand Prairie.

For locals and visitors, Radici adds another strong dinner and nightlife option near major attractions - perfect for date nights, social gatherings, or group dinners before or after events.

Harbor Freight Tools - Pioneer Parkway

Harbor Freight officially opened its Grand Prairie location in summer 2025 along Pioneer Parkway, expanding everyday retail options for residents. Known for affordable tools and equipment, this store has quickly become a convenience hub for homeowners, builders, and DIY enthusiasts.

New retail openings like this signal continued population growth and increased daily traffic throughout the city.

Bass Pro Shops - SH-161 Corridor

Bass Pro Shops opened in Grand Prairie as part of the city’s broader push toward destination retail. While technically opened in late 2024, its impact is clearly being felt throughout 2025.

The store attracts outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, anglers, and families - bringing consistent visitation from across DFW and reinforcing Grand Prairie as a regional draw. During the end of the year holiday season, Bass Pro hosts Santa's Wonderland, a Christmas experience where families get to take photos with Santa Claus for free!

One of the biggest new additions to the Grand Prairie entertainment scene is Topgolf Grand Prairie, which officially opened in January 2026 near the EpicCentral district. This massive two-level venue features over 80 climate-controlled hitting bays, high-tech Toptracer games, and a full-service restaurant and bar, creating a year-round destination for families, groups, and social outings. Designed for all skill levels, Topgolf blends golf, entertainment, and nightlife into one high-energy experience, further solidifying Grand Prairie as a growing hotspot for fun and activity in DFW.

Dining & Retail Growth Around EpicCentral

EpicCentral remains one of the biggest development drivers in Grand Prairie.

Alongside Radici, the area features a growing mix of established dining concepts, entertainment venues, outdoor spaces, and hotels. With Topgolf Grand Prairie scheduled to open in late 2025 or early 2026, the district is quickly becoming a full-day (and full-weekend) destination.

For tourists, EpicCentral offers a walkable, experience-focused area. For locals, it provides new reasons to stay close to home for dining, entertainment, and social outings.

Residential Growth: New Communities on the Way

Jefferson Kirbybrook (Coming 2026)

Grand Prairie is also adding new residential density. Jefferson Kirbybrook is a 269-home townhome community currently under development, with first residents expected in early 2026.

These new homes mean:

  • More families moving into Grand Prairie

  • Increased demand for fitness, recreation, and group activities

  • Greater opportunity for local businesses and event services to grow alongside the population

Retail & Commercial Development Continues

In addition to visible restaurant and retail openings, Grand Prairie continues to expand behind the scenes with:

  • New retail centers along major corridors

  • Industrial and manufacturing facilities bringing new jobs

  • Infrastructure improvements aimed at long-term growth

All of this fuels increased visitation, stronger neighborhoods, and more opportunities for social, corporate, and community events.

BJ’s Wholesale Club - New Warehouse Store Coming to Grand Prairie

What is BJ’s Wholesale Club?

BJ’s is a membership-based warehouse club (think big-box, wholesale-groceries + general goods) similar to Sam’s Club or Costco - carrying everything from bulk groceries, fresh produce, meat, dairy and bakery items to household goods, electronics, and more.

BJ's Grand Prairie Location & Opening Timeline

  • BJ’s has officially broken ground on a new Grand Prairie store as of July 2025.

  • According to the company’s rollout plan, BJ’s clubs in the Dallas Fort Worth area - including Grand Prairie - are slated to open in early 2026.

  • The planned Grand Prairie location is part of a multi-store expansion in North Texas.

  • Once open, the store will bring 100-150 new jobs to the area.

Why This Matters for Locals, Visitors & Group Planners

With new restaurants, entertainment venues, and residential developments opening steadily, Grand Prairie offers more than just places to eat and shop - it offers experiences.

That’s especially important for:

  • Corporate groups visiting DFW

  • Families planning celebrations

  • Sports teams and fitness communities

  • Tourists looking for something active and memorable beyond dining

As the city grows, so does the demand for professionally planned group experiences.
