Toronto is back on the HYROX map, and this year’s event promises to be bigger, more electric, and packed with opportunity for fitness competitors across North America. Whether you’re racing or simply riding the energy, here’s your guide to what’s happening, and how to make the most of it.
Date & Venue
Mark your calendar: October 3rd to 5th, 2025 is the weekend to watch. HYROX Toronto will take over the Enercare Centre (Exhibition Place) in downtown Toronto.
It’s a multi-day affair to accommodate all divisions, heats, and the full HYROX festival experience.
Format & Divisions: What’s the Plan?
Just like every HYROX event, Toronto will follow the standard, globally consistent format:
8 × 1 km runs, each followed by one of 8 functional workout stations
Same workout order, same expectations - that consistency is part of the appeal of HYROX.
Stations include (though check the final race day docs for exact order/weights):
SkiErg
Sled Push
Sled Pull
Burpee Broad Jumps
Rowing
Farmer’s Carry
Sandbag Lunges
Wall Balls
You’ll see divisions like Open, Pro, Doubles, Relay, and more. The event is positioned to be “the largest HYROX race in North America to date.”
Expect tight competition, big energy, and lots of personal bests.
What Participants Must Know: Tips Before You Start
Here are the things you want to lock in so race day feels like a test, not a surprise.
1. Register early - spots go fast
Toronto’s HYROX is already drawing buzz. During ticket launch, many divisions sold out quickly. Don’t wait - grab your spot, choose your division, and lock in your wave time.
2. Understand wave assignments
When you sign up, you estimate your finish time. Faster estimates put you in earlier waves; if unsure, you might be randomly assigned.
3. Technical rules & movement standards matter
Everything from squat depth to lunging form will be judged. In a big event like Toronto, there’s less room for sloppy reps - train clean.
4. Transitions & Roxzone are real
Walking paths between runs and stations (“Roxzone”) add up in time. Practice getting off a run, moving purposefully to a station, executing, and moving back into the run. Do that under fatigue in training.
5. Gear & recovery planning
Wear clothes that move with you and breathe well. Choose shoes that support both running and functional movements (pushing/pulling, lateral work).Bring recovery tools (rolling, stretching, bands, etc.) to bounce back after each day.
Recommended Gear:
6. Warm up, hydrate, visualize
Race weekend is long. Start hydrating early, warm up smart (dynamic > static), and run through your race “script” in your mind so you know how you’ll attack each station.
Travel & Logistics (Especially for DFW Athletes)
If you're coming from Dallas Fort Worth (or outside of Toronto), here’s how to stay ahead:
Fly early: arrive at least a day before to adjust and get in your groove
Book near Exhibition Place / downtown: easier access to the venue
Scout the venue on arrival: find check-in, warm-up zones, athlete lounge, hydration points
Plan your nutrition ahead of arrival. Know nearby grocery or food options so you’re not scrambling
Why This Race Matters
Toronto is more than just another stop, it’s becoming a marquee event in HYROX’s North American circuit. Here’s what makes it special:
It marks HYROX’s growing footprint in Canada, reinforcing that HYROX is truly an international sport.
The three-day format allows for full festival vibes: athletes, spectators, partner activations, and more.
It’s a chance to benchmark yourself against a high-level, diverse athlete field.
Because HYROX events are standardized globally, your finish time in Toronto carries weight everywhere else you compete.
