From Gymnastics to the Games
Aimee Cringle’s journey in fitness began early: she first tried gymnastics as a child, later transitioning into athletics, particularly the long jump before shin splints redirected her path toward strength training at a local CrossFit gym during her school lunch breaks. What started as curiosity sparked by a conversation with a fellow student turned into a lifelong passion: “I’ve literally never not been training CrossFit since then,” she has said.

Winning on the European Stage
In 2021, Cringle made a bold statement by winning the CrossFit European Championships, taking first in five of seven events - including grueling workouts like run-paddle-run and chipper challenges. That performance quickly positioned her as “one of the hottest, future prospects in the sport” in Europe.
Balancing Nursing & Elite Athletics
Despite earning a degree in nursing in 2021, Aimee chose to prioritize CrossFit full-time, relocating to the UK to train at Blueprint CrossFit under coach Fraser McKenzie. Their refined focus on skill, technique, and mental toughness paid off: she placed 5th in the 2024 Europe Semifinals and earned her first-ever Games qualification. That milestone also made her only the third British woman ever to reach the individual category at the Games.

CrossFit Games Performances
2024 CrossFit Games: Finished 13th in her debut, competing against the world’s top-40 elite women.
2025 CrossFit Open & Semifinals: Ranked 14th worldwide and 3rd in the UK during the Open; went on to place 9th in the Semifinal and has qualified again for the Games this year.
Training Philosophy & Mindset
Cringle’s approach is rooted in resilience, consistency, and continuous improvement. She embraces her strength and dedication, even addressing societal biases head-on: “Building muscle is great… you fall in love with the feeling of being strong.” Her coach even joked, “Giving Aimee a present is just giving Aimee a workout” speaking to her relentless drive.
