Scheffler Dominates the FedExCup Playoffs Opener

Scheffler entered Sunday's final round with a commanding lead and never gave the rest of the field much of an opportunity to catch him.

Even an unusual break early in the round could not derail him. On the third hole, Scheffler's bunker shot hit a sprinkler head and bounced across the green, leading to a bogey. It proved to be one of the few setbacks in an otherwise commanding final round.

By the end of Sunday, Scheffler had completed an eight-shot victory, opening the FedExCup Playoffs with another emphatic reminder of why he sits atop the professional golf world.


Career PGA Tour Win No. 21

The Memphis victory brings Scheffler to 21 career PGA Tour titles, another significant milestone for the Texas-based golfer.

Scheffler has strong ties to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He attended Highland Park High School before playing collegiate golf at the University of Texas and has continued to make his home in the Dallas area during his professional career.


His latest victory also puts him in an ideal position in the FedExCup standings as the PGA Tour postseason continues. Scheffler leaves Memphis ranked No. 1, with the top 50 players advancing to the BMW Championship.
